About Me
About Me
That was a line from a video I saw in college about a program that teaches vocational skills to young adults with disabilities. When they faced challenges, the man training them would tell them "Try another way." For whatever reason, that made an impression on me, and it has become a motto that I live by. I have always been independent, determined and up for any challenge. Experience has taught me that things don't always go as planned, and I’ve learned to adapt, pivot, and try another way. That is what led me to Instructional Design. I learned about the field while contemplating a new career path after a break for caregiving. As an empathizer who loves learning, creating, and solving problems, Instructional Design is the perfect fit for me. I am able to put myself in the place of the learner and, using my analytical thinking and problem solving skills, produce engaging and interactive learning solutions to meet any goal. I excel in an environment where I can build relationships, share ideas, and help others achieve success. I enjoy collaborating with stakeholders, subject matter experts and other team members to create engaging and impactful learning experiences through eLearning, Microlearning, and blended learning.
Applied Instructional Design Academy is a comprehensive 9-month program in which learners design and develop learning modules and design deliverables. Materials are then put through a review process and examined by experienced instructional designers. Extensive feedback is given to promote revision and refinement of materials while demonstrating the iterative process of Instructional Design.

I grew up in the Houston area, and left briefly to attend Texas A&M University in College Station. I currently live in Bedias, Texas with my husband and three children. While we are usually busy with year-round football and soccer, we also enjoy outdoor adventures (camping, boating, fishing, and hunting) and spending time with extended family and friends.
